If you have been checking our Facebook or Twitter recently, you should have noticed the announcement about my vacation last week. Although I did not mention about where I went to, I guess a few of you have already known that my destination is Singapore. XD
It turns out that a few readers asked me to post a trip report along with (Nendoroid) photos I took there. So … well, here is a quick report of my trip. ^^
Note: Some photos (and Nendoroid Aisaka Taiga) used in this post are courtesy of SetsunaKaien, who was accompanying us during our trip in Singapore. Thanks, buddy! ^^
DAY 0
I went to Singapore with my two brothers from Surabaya and a friend who was going there from Jakarta. We were supposed to re-group meet in Changi Airport at around 7PM (GMT+8). Unfortunately …
Yes, as you can see from the pic above, our flight from Surabaya to Singapore was delayed due to the plane getting flat tires, and (they said) it could not be repaired in time. Ridiculously, the flight was pushed back from around 5PM to 11PM (GMT+7) – that is 6 hours delay, as the carrier sent another airplane from Singapore. Oh my … T_T
We arrived in Changi Airport at around 2PM – the photo above was taken after we claimed our baggages. What a great situation to begin the trip! XD
DAY 1
The plan for our first day was to get some necessary stuff for my 4-days trip … such as a prepaid mobile phone plan. For that intention, I arranged a meeting with SetsunaKaien – a Singapore-based Nendonesian – to help pointing us to the right direction here and there. We agreed to meet at Funan DigitaLife Mall, and while we were there, we took the chance to visit some figure stores.
From Funan, we went to Plaza Singapura to have lunch there as well as paying a visit to some figure stores there, before heading to Bishan for some “business”. We separated way with SetsunaKaien here, and we decided to go to Takashimaya to have an early dinner. XD

Saw this poster at Takashimaya's Kinokuniya book store

We had a set of mealbox from Tori-Q as dinner
Afterwards, we simply took a walk between malls around Orchard area before heading back. ^^
DAY 2
The main plan for this day was having a buffet dinner at a restaurant in Holland Village. We tried to call the restaurant to reserve a table, but our call did not go well, so we decided to try again later on.
We began our second day with a trip to Marina Bay area for some sightseeing.

We planned to have lunch at Marina Bay Sand, but the food court was really full there. Therefore, we decided to go to VivoCity to have a quick meal.

We tried to call our buffet restaurant again to have a reservation, and this time we got it. Yay! ^^

Koi Garden at Suntec City Mall
We had plenty of time to kill until dinner time, so we decided to visit Suntec City Mall and Sunshine Plaza – my brother has some business here.
Afterwards, we went straightly to Holland Village to confirm our reservation there. Time for some late all-you-can-eat dinner! XD

Xiao Long Bao - one of my favourite Chinese delicacies!
DAY 3
We arranged another meeting with SetsunaKaien, and this time we planned to have a meetup with other Nendonesian as well. However, before we went to the meeting point, we decided to have lunch first.

Quick lunch at Just Acia
We finally arrived at the meeting point: Singapore Botanic Garden. Unfortunately, most Nendonesian could not come because they were still working (it was Friday noon). I will try to set a better timing for the next meetup – sorry about that, Nendonesian! XD

The park

A pre-wedding photo session?

Some geese were spotted in the river/lake
Obviously, we took some Nendoroid photos as well. XD
Unfortunately, we did not have time to explore the park completely, because we did not have much time there. XD
We went to Funan again, because SetsunaKaien said that he had to fetch his Nendoroid Kashiwazaki Sena there. I saw Nendoroid Yune, Ayase, and Cheerful KAITO in the store as well. XD
Afterwards, we visited some malls around Orchard area again.

AFA Shop
LAST DAY
Since our flight was scheduled for noon, we did not do anything worth mentioning this day, other than visiting China Town to buy some gifts and souvenirs.

Gift shops at China Town area
Afterwards, we went straightly to Changi Airport to have a quick lunch and bid our farewell to Singapore. ^^

Well then, I guess that concludes our quick trip report to Singapore. You can see more pics at my Flickr set – I might upload a few more photos into the set later on. XD
Thanks for reading, Nendonesian! ^^
gosh, where the nendoroid shop&afa shop??? i wanna know where it it plz! XDD
The AFA Shop is located at #02-02 *SCAPE, 2 Orchard Link, while the Nendoroid shop is located at Funan Digitalife Mall, 4th floor.
Oh did you have fun in Singapore? Thought you would drop by China Square Central as well as there are a few Nendoroid shops there. Hope to join you guys for Nendoroid photography the next time round. =D
Yep, I had fun there, but I hope I will have more time to spend there, because there are so many things I have not seen/visited yet. XD
Looking forward to have a Nendoroid photo session with you all next time. ^^
The shop at Funan should be located at 5th floor, both LaTendo (Opposite the Maid Cafe) and Rapid Culture nearer to the Food Court
Hah.. so you went to La Tendo and Rapid Culture and AFA Shop hahaha… I wanted to see who are the people behind this webbie
Btw whose red-eyed face you used for the Zatsune Miku?
In the pics above, I used Zange-chan’s and Haqua’s face. XD
hope u have fun time coming to singapore! btw u say u went to bishan to do ‘business’,what do u mean by that ? is there figurine there too?! 😀
I hoped so, but no, it is a non-Nendoroid-related business. 😀
I was simply getting a recently released iDevice there for my auntie. XD
The ToriQ picture states “kaitenyakitori no mise” which would be a conveyor belt yakitori place…was it? In addition to sushi kaiten establishments, I’ve seen a dim sum one in Tokyo, but yakitori? Restoran itu, cukup sedap?
Tori-Q is, in my opinion, a yakitori stall focused on take-away meal. As far as I know, I did not see any conveyor belt there, but there might be one in one of their *main* stalls.
In any case, yep, the yakitoris taste good enough for me. 😀
Hi, Singaporean Nendo fan here.
Just thought I’d share my views on why Tori-Q had a label stating “conveyor belt yakitori”
The stores typically use a machine where uncooked skewers of meat are placed on clips, which then rotate the yakitori skewer around a grill (a la conveyor belt style). By the end of 1 cycle, the meat is already cooked and will be re-dipped in sauce for flavour.
Hope this helps 🙂

Ah … so that is the explanation. Thanks for the references! ^^

Where is the AFAshop?
I think it has been closed last year.
