When was the last time I wrote a proper Nendoroid review? Putting the custom-made Nendoroid aside, the last time I wrote a review is about Nendoroid Kuroneko on July 27 – that was roughly 3 months ago! Well, I apologize for the lack of reviews recently, due to the heavy workload I have been facing. XD
Enough with my short rant, let’s get directly to today’s review, shall we? ^^
Today we are going to look into Nendoroid Petit Prisma Illya, which is bundled with the limited edition of Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei! manga volume 4, which was released on September 28. As you can see on the pic above, the limited edition contains:
- Fate/kaleid liner PRISMA ILLYA 2wei! manga vol.4
- Drama CD
- Nendoroid Petit Prisma Illya
So … who is Prisma Illya? Here is a short description of her, taken from TYPE-MOON Wiki:
Illyasviel von Einzbern, addressed as Illya for short, is the main character of the series. She is a departure from her Fate/stay night counterpart, as she is being raised as a normal aged middle schooler with absolutely no knowledge of the world of magic.
She is extremely passionate about magical girl anime, and has fantasies about becoming one, and is finally introduced to the world of magic by Rin and the Kaleidostick, Ruby, which leads to her forming a contract to become a Magical Girl. She initially finds it to be a fun experience, but after some time, she begins to see it as a burden. She often wishes to simply forget everything about the world of magic, which angers the people around her. She has some sort of great magical power sealed inside of her, which allows her to instantly harness vast power and knowledge of magecraft and class cards, such as the ability to use them to become one with a Heroic Spirit, while in mortal danger.
Yep, she is actually originating from Fate/stay night series, sharing more-or-less similar background. However, in this manga, she is not the master of Berserker, but a magical girl! That is why Fate/kaleid liner‘s setup is often considered as “alternate universe” of Fate/stay night. ^^
Well then, now that you have known more about Prisma Illya, let’s take a look at the Petit now. ^^
Doesn’t she look adorable there? Although I have to admit that her outfit design and Kaleidostick Ruby reminds me of Card Captor Sakura’s design … somehow. XD
Whoa … an upset Illya! She still look cute though. XD
Star-Angel themed rod! Yes, it is removable, so you can pose Prisma Illya with or without holding the rod. Nice! ^^
Ah … I think this part is the one that gives me familiarity aura of Card Captor Sakura; You might want to try Googling for Sakura’s rod. XD
Aside from her head, arms, and hips, Illya’s twintails and that wing-shaped “ribbons” can be rotated as well as plugged out. A nice little feature of this Petit IMHO. ^^
Tako-Luka was accompanying Illya! I wonder why Tako-Luka was so upset there … and Illya looked innocent there. XD
Sakine Meiko decided to try Prisma Illya’s outfit, while Illya was trying to be a Vocaloid: Mahou Shoujo Meiko and Vocaloid Illya! Both of them looks adorable wearing each other’s outfits there. XD
Prisma Illya met her other selves from Nendoroid Petit Fate/stay night set. Prisma Illya’s eyes color looks slightly different compared to the other two. ^^
Conclusion
Cute? Check. Epic expression? Gotcha. Twin-tails? Present. Mahou Shoujo? Roger. IMHO, Nendoroid Petit Prisma Illya is one of the best Petit in term of design. Her magical girl outfit looks pretty detailed for such a small-sized figurine. If you call yourself a Nendoroid Petit collector, then this Petit is a must-have. ^^
Oh … and I have a bonus pic for you:
It looks like Popura-chan didn’t look too happy seeing Tako-Luka trying to eat the bread ordered by a customer. XD
Well then, see you again on my next review, Nendonesian! ^^
I’m a big fan of Illya and Fate series ^^
prisma illya is cute, but somehow I love the original Illya more…
well, set that aside, Prisma Illya is really cute!!! ^^
for information, Rin was the 1st user of Kaleido Ruby… she even transformed to a Mahou Shoujou once..
a good photoshoot!!! ^^ I like it!
Great haul!
