Nendoroid 144: Kuroneko

Nendoroid Kuroneko

Nendoroid Kuroneko

When I watched Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (a.k.a Oreimo), I find that Kuroneko left me a strong impression of her personality and habits, compared to the main heroine, Kousaka Kirino, although they are both tsundere. In fact, Kuroneko is my favorite character from Oreimo, despite her role as merely a supporting character in the series. ^^

Now that GSC has made Nendoroid Kuroneko, let’s find out how they present her look and feel in the Nendoroid rendetion. ^^

A little introduction for Kuroneko: her real name is Gokou Ruri. She is an avid fan of the fantasy seinen series Maschera, and she hates anime that are focused on moe-ness to sell (Kirino’s favorite series Hoshikuzu Uicchi Meruru, for example ^^). As a side note, she is also very skillful when it comes to gaming.

Her choice of fashion is predominantly gothic lolita, and is always dressed in a white frilly top with a black bolero worn over it. She also wears a black skirt with cross-shaped detail and black Mary Janes with gray stockings. On her head is a headband with a small red rose adorning each side.

Well … now that you know a little background of Kuroneko, let’s see how her Nendoroid rendetion turns out. ^^

The packaging

The packaging

IMHO, there is nothing special on her packaging. It still follows the same Oreimo style as Kirino‘s box, albeit with a little purple-ish colored theme here and there.

The parts and accessories

The parts and accessories

Anyway, here is the list of the parts and accessories:

  • Three face plates (one is attached)
  • Four left arms (one is attached)
  • Two right arms (one is attached)
  • Five left palms (one is attached)
  • Five right palms (one is attached)
  • Two left legs (one is attached)
  • Two right legs (one is attached)
  • Two headbands (one is attached, the other one is equipped with cat’s ears)
  • A cat’s tail
  • A Nendoroid-sized DVD case and a set of stickers
  • A quick guide

Some special characteristics of Nendoroid Kuroneko are:

Kuroneko's headband and the one with cat's ears

Yep, as you can see, her headbands are removable and it can be easily replaced by each other. If you need her wearing the cat’s ears, then you can just swap the normal headband with the nekomimi one, and vice versa. ^^

The cat's tail

The cat's tail

The cat’s tail is equipable by replacing the ribbon at the back of her skirt. You can even adjust the tail position by spinning it around if necessary. ^^

Well then, here are some pics of Nendoroid Kuroneko with default pose:

Doesn’t she look really adorable as a Nendoroid!? IMHO her gothic-lolita fashion and expression is portrayed almost perfectly by GSC there. ^^

Well then … now that Kuroneko had arrived to my Nendoroid base, she quickly went to see Kirino. I wonder what she was doing there with Kirino. ^^;

Kuroneko was picking on Kirino

Kuroneko: Hey, you! Have you watched Maschera yet?

Uh-oh … it seems that Kuroneko had already started a “debate” with Kirino …

Kirino looked pretty pissed off there

Kirino looked pretty pissed off there

Kuroneko: So? How is it? I bet Maschera is WAAAY better than your Stardust Witch Meruru. *evil laugh*
Kirino: ………. *grumpy face*
Kuroneko: I know … you could not admit it, but that is the FACT, isn’t it? Compared to that loli-moe Meruru, Maschera is superi—

Whoa … Kirino is pretty short-tempered, Kuroneko, so you should not make her angry or else ….

Kirino: So you think Maschera is better, huh!? Take this!!! *steps on Maschera DVD*
Kuroneko: N-n-n-nooooooooooooooo!!!! TT___TT

…… that’s what you get for making Kirino angry. (-_-“)

Anyway, I also managed to get some pics of Kuroneko exchanging body parts with other Nendoroid as well. Here they are:

Hey … since when did they get along again after that “fight”? ^^

Uma Uma Dance! ^^

So in conclusion … does she worth to get? Absolute YES whether you are an Oreimo fan or not. Her outfit is very unique … and that “I told you so” face plate is really epic! Her kitty accessories are also a nice addition to your cat-themed Nendoroid. With Nendoroid Aragaki Ayase coming up soon, you could re-create so many scenes from the anime adaptation of Oreimo as well. ^^

Well then, that’s about all of my review of Nendoroid Kuroneko. As always, comments, critics, and other feedbacks are welcome in the comment section below. See you on my next review, Nendonesian! ^^
