After having not written any reviews for some months, I decided to write up one for the book-eater youkai, Nendoroid Amano Tooko from novel/anime series Bungaku Shoujo. Despite having been released for quite a few weeks, I just got Tooko-chan yesterday due to shipment delay. Well, let’s get directly to the point now … go past the break to read the full review for this cute Nendoroid.

The first thing came across my mind upon seeing Tooko’s packaging is … well, it packs a lot of stuff there! ^^;

Tooko’s box size is a little bigger compared to the other Nendoroid’s in general. IMHO the tuna can, chair and extra fin hair part also contribute to the increase in the box size. Upon unloading the box content, I found out something interesting: some extra parts were taped to the back of the container.

As you can see in the photo, there are some body parts and stickers are attached/taped there. I guess the container is just not enough for the massive amount of parts and accessories, eh? ^^

Anyway, here is the complete listing of the parts and accessories:

• 3 face plates (one attached)
• 4 pair of palms (one attached)
• 2 pair of hands (one attached)
• 2 pair of legs (one attached, one special pair for sitting-on-the-chair)
• A special skirt for sitting-on-the-chair
• A fin hair part – the fin is removable
• A chair
• A tuna can with its close-lid
• A pair of shoes – not wearable
• 3 books – one book is opened
• A set of stickers – including some book torns which is supposed to be ‘eaten’ by Tooko-chan
• A stand base

Well, isn’t it quite a lot of items there for the standard price tag of … 3500 Yen? ^^

Yep, this tuna can could also serve as a stand base, as it includes Tooko’s lower body part there, so you can just plug Tooko there and pose her up – in her bizzare expression (there is a photo of it later on), of course. ^^

There is one small special thing on Tooko’s hair. The twin-twisted tails are detachable and they have rotating joints too, so you can rotate her tails to other direction as well. It is not a mind-blowing feature, but I think it is a nice addition anyway. ^^

Well, isn’t she adorable!? *ahem* Tooko comes with a special legs and skirts, specifically intended for the pose shown in the photo above. She also has a pair of shoes – which is not wearable, unfortunately – to be put around the chair in order to show you that she has indeed removed her shoes before sitting on the chair. ^^

Here is a fact: I purchased Tooko for mainly two reasons – being fan of Nendoroid aside. The first one is her sitting-on-the-chair pose, and the second one is … this BIZZARE expression! This face plates is so hilarious and it is simply perfect for creating funny scenes and doing some face exchange sessions! ^^

Well … I think she looks a little scary to the other Nendoroid in her youkai form and expression. I wonder if she will get along with them though. ^^;

I thought Tooko only eats books! Well, sorry about that, Yui-chan … I will fix your Gitah later … ^^;

Tooko got her first soul face exchange session! It turned out that she exchanged her face with Luka this time … ^_______^
