Nendoroid Sculptors

Nendoroid Suzumiya Haruhi - work in progress

Nendoroid Suzumiya Haruhi - work in progress

Today, we’ll view Nendoroid from another perspective. Yep, we’re going to discuss about the folks behind Nendoroid: the sculptors. Unlike most model kits (Gundam, Macross, etc.) which are already fully manufactured by machine, Nendoroids still have “human touches” despite being mass-produced in the factory. OK, let’s dig further on some famous Nendoroid sculptors.

Due to my limited knowledge (!!!!) I’m going to cover only 3 well-known sculptors: Nendoron, Yukiwo Ageta, and Jun (E.V.).

Nendoron

Nendoron” is an alias. I don’t know whether Nendoron is the nickname of a person or a team. Well, one thing for sure: Nendoron is an expert of Nendoroid sculpting. Yep, they have sculpted more than 100 Nendoroids and Puchis. Some of their famous works are: Nendoroids from Haruhi Suzumiya no Yuutsu, Lucky Star, Angel Beats, iDOLM@STER, and some Hatsune Miku versions. They also assisted some Nendoroids sculpting as well. In my opinion, Nendoron’s Nendoroid sculptures are mostly adorable. ^^

Yukiwo Ageta

She’s originally a Max Factory employee, but … well, MF and GSC are the same company, right? Anyway, her famous sculptures including Nendoroids from Vocaloid – yep, Hatsune Miku, Kagamines, Megurine Luka, KAITO, etc. She also sculpted Nendoroid Al-Azif, which is often considered as one of the most beautiful Nendoroids so far. Her recent work is Nendoroid Puchi Vocaloid and Nendoroid Akiyama Mio from K-ON! series. Personally, Yukiwo Ageta is my favorite Nendoroid sculptor. ^^

Jun (E.V.)

I don’t know what this “E.V.” means though – can someone give an explanation regarding this? ^^. Jun’s well-known works are seen in Nendoroids from Touhou Project, Kodomo no Jikan, and Kannagi. Her recent sculpture are the limited edition Nendoroid Feena.

Final Words

Well, I  hope this post could help you to know more about some well-known Nendoroid sculptors, although I know that it merely gives you a quick overview.

Tips: If you want to know who is the sculptor(s) of a Nendoroid, you can browse to her respective page at Goodsmile official site, then find it under Product Description. Below screenshots are taken from Nendoroid Petite: Racing Miku Set 2010 version.

    Well … it's kinda difficult to answer as I don't have enough materials to explain that. XDPersonally, I can see the differences between their sculptures from the Nendoroids' faces, especially their eyes.You can try comparing Nendoroids from Vocaloid, Lucky Star, and Touhou Project. Sorry that I can't explain it well enough, though. ^^;
